Ahead of his anticipated UFC 320 title rematch against Magomed Ankalaev, Alex Pereira showcased his characteristic jovial side. This Saturday, the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas will once again host the premier mixed martial arts event, UFC 320, featuring a highly anticipated light heavyweight championship rematch between Magomed Ankalaev and Alex Pereira.
Their initial encounter at UFC 313 earlier this year saw Ankalaev secure a surprising victory, out-striking Pereira over five rounds to claim the championship. Leading up to Saturday`s rematch, tensions have noticeably escalated, culminating in a near confrontation between the two fighters at the UFC Performance Institute earlier this week.

Pereira`s Humorous Head Kick Gesture Towards UFC Legend
During his reign as light heavyweight champion, ‘Poatan’ emerged as arguably the UFC`s biggest star, shouldering much of the promotion`s appeal during a challenging period. His immense popularity among fans is largely attributed to his unique personality, a blend of stoicism and unexpected humor.
UFC legend and former double champion, Daniel Cormier, is well-acquainted with Pereira`s distinct character. Over the past few years, Pereira and ‘DC’ have developed a notable friendship, with Cormier frequently interviewing him before his recent bouts. Many of their interactions have become viral sensations, and it had almost become a customary greeting for Cormier to attempt a single-leg takedown on Pereira.
Yet, in a recent encounter just before their interview, Cormier proposed a truce. Pereira, in a moment of comedic rejection, responded by playfully launching a head kick towards the unsuspecting legend. “Truce, this guy, truce, no more jokes, everything even, all even,” Cormier humorously pleaded with Pereira, momentarily seeking refuge behind his coach.
Pereira Aims to Surpass Cormier in Light Heavyweight Title Wins
The UFC fanbase largely hopes to see ‘Poatan’ reclaim his winning form and avenge his previous loss to Ankalaev. Should the 38-year-old successfully emerge from Vegas as the 205lb champion once more, he would surpass Cormier`s record for the most title fight victories in the light heavyweight division.
