UFC commentator Joe Rogan believes a captivating featherweight championship bout between Alexander Volkanovski and Movsar Evloev would be an ideal addition to a potential UFC event at the White House.
Movsar Evloev recently secured a hard-fought victory over Lerone Murphy in the main event of UFC London at the O2 Arena. Despite a close contest, the judges’ decision favored Evloev, positioning him as a strong contender for the UFC featherweight title in his next outing.
Alexander Volkanovski, known for his active championship reign and willingness to face tough opponents, has also indicated his readiness to defend his belt against Evloev, further building anticipation for this potential matchup.
Joe Rogan’s Vision for the Fight
Speaking on his “Fight Companion” podcast, Rogan expressed considerable admiration for Evloev’s performance. “The Evloev thing was very impressive. The fact that he was able to stand with him was very impressive to me,” Rogan stated, underscoring Evloev’s skill and resilience.
Rogan passionately advocated for the fight to happen sooner rather than later, particularly at a high-profile venue. “I’m into (Volkanovski vs. Evloev). God, I hope so. I hope they don’t f*ck him again. After this? It has to be, or something is terrible in the world. White House lawn, let’s go. Give the man a couple of months off. We’re only in March, it’s in June. Come on, spice that card up, baby.” He also commented on the intensity surrounding Evloev’s fighting style, adding, “The pressure he must be getting to try and finish fights in strikes, and strike with people must be nuts.”
Rogan envisions this championship clash as a significant draw, suggesting it would substantially elevate the appeal of an anticipated “UFC White House” card.
