Allianz Milano Advances to CEV Challenge Cup Final

Allianz Milano has successfully reached the CEV Challenge Cup final, triumphing over Altekma SK Izmir with a 3-1 score in the second leg of their semifinal match held at the Atatürk Voleybol Salonu.

Milano solidified their progression to the final by dominating the initial two sets, securing them 25-21 and 25-23, which effectively decided the overall tie. Altekma SK Izmir, the Turkish squad, responded by winning the third set 25-16, thanks to notable performances from Erhan Hamarat and Ibrahim Lawani.

The fourth set proved to be a tight battle, extending past the standard scoring limit. However, the Italian team maintained their composure to clinch it 28-26, thereby sealing their victory.

Veikka Lindqvist emerged as Milano’s leading scorer with 16 points, supported by Tommaso Ichino who contributed nine points. For Altekma, Erhan Hamarat tallied 14 points, and Ibrahim Lawani ended the match with 12 points.

In the upcoming final, Milano is scheduled to face Lindemans Aalst. The first leg will take place in Belgium on March 25, followed by the return match in Milan on April 1.
