Czechia: Prague Hosts National Beach Volleyball Championships

Last week, Prague was the venue for the CEZ Czech Beach Volleyball Championships. In the women`s competition, the second-seeded duo of Andrea Lorenzova and Mariana Tomasova clinched the national title. They secured a 2-0 (35-33, 21-11) victory in an intense final against third-seeded Julie Honzovicova and Valerie Dvornikova, after an exceptionally close first set. The top-seeded pair, Anna Pospisilova and Daniela Mokra, claimed the bronze medal, winning a challenging 2-1 (24-22, 15-21, 15-12) match against Justyna Frommova and Jaroslava Marcelova.

For the men, the top three seeded teams dominated the podium. Tadeas Trousil and Jiri Sedlak triumphed in the national championship final with a decisive 2-0 (21-11, 21-16) sweep over Tomas Semerad and Adam Stocek. Termoli hosted the second-to-last stop of the 2025 Fonzies Absolute Italian Beach Volleyball Championship tour. In the men`s event, Mauro Sacripanti and Giacomo Titta delivered an impressive upset, defeating top-seeded Tiziano Andreatta and Davide Benzi 2-0 (21-18, 21-11) in the final. Italian Olympians Samuele Cottafava and Enrico Rossi secured the bronze, overcoming second-seeded Matteo Martino and Simone Podesta with a 2-0 (21-16, 21-17) win.

The women`s final saw second-seeded Giada Benazzi and Erika Ditta achieve a 2-0 (21-13, 23-21) upset against the bracket leaders, Alice Gradini and Federica Frasca, to claim the gold. The bronze medal was awarded to the Italian-American team of Arianna Barboni and Courtney Schwan, who won 2-0 (21-15, 21-19) against Jessica Bellero Piccinin and Claudia Puccinelli.

Japan: Aomori Welcomes Japan Beach Volleyball Tour

The 2025 Japan Beach Volleyball Tour continued in Aomori, where Miki Ishii and Mayu Kikuchi, the second-seeded pair, took home the women`s trophy. They dominated the final with a 2-0 (21-5, 21-8) victory over Ami Shirahata and Suzuna Fukuda. The bronze medal was shared by the semifinalists, Miu Sasawatari & Noa Utsugi, and top-seeded Sakura Ito & Mayu Sawame.

In the men`s final, third-seeded Yusuke Ishijima (Gottsu) and Juntaro Tachiya caused an upset, defeating the top-ranked Hiroki Dylan Kurokawa and Yoshiumi Hasegawa 2-0 (22-20, 21-16). Third place was jointly awarded to the German-Japanese duo of Martin Kaufer & Kensuke Shoji, and the international team comprising Japan’s Taito Mizumachi and New Zealand’s Thomas Hartles.

Fuengirola hosted the 2025 Spanish Beach Volleyball Championships. Alejandro Huerta and Adrian Gavira secured the men’s national championship title with a 2-0 (21-7, 21-19) win against Javier Huerta and Oscar Jimenez in the final. The top-seeded pair of Antonio Saucedo and Alvaro Viera claimed the bronze medal after a challenging 2-1 (21-15, 17-21, 15-12) victory over second-seeded Pablo Perez and Nathan Matos in the third-place match.

In the women`s division, top seeds Ana Vergara and Tania Moreno fulfilled expectations by winning the national title. Bern, the capital, hosted the Swiss Beach Volleyball Championships, marking the final event of the Emmi Caffe Latte Beachtour. Anouk Verge-Depre and Zoe Verge-Depre, Switzerland`s highest internationally ranked women`s duo, successfully secured the national title. As top seeds, they overcame Menia Bentele and Annique Niederhauser with a strong 2-0 (23-21, 21-15) victory in the final. The bronze medal went to second-seeded Leona Kernen and Muriel Bossart, who defeated Linda Abbuhl and Livia Stolz 2-0 (21-17, 21-18).

In the men`s competition, top-seeded Florian Breer and Luc Fluckiger also lived up to expectations, becoming Swiss champions. They achieved a thrilling 2-1 (20-22, 21-15, 15-12) comeback victory in the final against the third-seeded Swiss-Czech duo, Nathan Broch and Filip Habr. Mael Masserey and Tinko Schnegg claimed the bronze, surprising second-seeded Quentin Metral and Michiel Zandbergen with a 2-0 (21-14, 21-19) win in the third-place playoff.
