“In Case You Didn’t Know” — Brett Young is going to have a daughter!
The country singer revealed the news that his wife Taylor is pregnant with a baby girl on Instagram Tuesday, sharing a slow-motion video that showed the mom-to-be tossing a baseball in her husband’s direction.
Young, 38, swings a bat and makes contact on the first try, causing the ball to explode into a cloud of pink smoke before the couple share a sweet embrace. In the second video, a device is shown tracking the baby’s heart rate at 154 to 155 beats per minute.
“It’s … a … ” he captioned the clips, adding four heart-eye emojis, while Taylor wrote alongside the same videos, “Since we all know how much BY loves baseball, I thought this reveal was only fitting for the daddy to be! We cannot wait to meet our little babe!”
“Taylor and I are so excited,” Young tells PEOPLE exclusively. “We didn’t care one way or the other, but there’s something about knowing that it’s a girl that makes it even more real. We are so blessed and can’t wait to meet this beautiful little girl!”

Brett Young Jokes About His Pregnant Wife’s Baby Bump at 2019 ACMs: “Hasn’t Been Donut Month”
Young and Taylor, 31, shared their pregnancy news exclusively with PEOPLE on April 6, when the country star — whose hit "Here Tonight" is currently sitting at No. 1! — explained that the pair “have always shared the same heart for wanting a family.”
“I love knowing that we get to give this little one an amazing life, and I just can’t wait for the future ahead of us as a family. We are so blessed!” he said.
The newlyweds — who tied the knot in November — discovered they were expecting in early February, after Taylor decided to take a pregnancy test “on a whim” after the two had flown to Las Vegas to spend Super Bowl weekend with friends and family.
“I was in shock when it read positive. I really just didn’t believe what I was seeing,” she recalled. “After it sunk in, I was so happy and so overwhelmed that I just started crying — happy tears of course! Brett and I hugged, kissed and talked for hours about how long we had been wanting this and how excited we are to become parents.”
The dad-to-be was all smiles on April 7 as he and his pregnant wife posed for photos ahead of the 2019 ACM Awards in Las Vegas, wearing a creatively checkered suit. Taylor, meanwhile, rocked a three-quarters-sleeve purple minidress, completing the look in silver heels and a matching clutch.
“We couldn’t have her in a dress and not explain why [she has a bump]. It hasn’t been donut month,” Young joked to PEOPLE on the red carpet ahead of the show, placing his hand on Taylor’s belly. “There’s actually a baby in here.”
Of deciding to start a family so soon after their nuptials, Taylor explained, “We’ve known each other for quite a while and at our age, I think we were just ready to start a family. We’re like, ‘We’ve lived a pretty good, fun, selfish life!’ So I think we’re ready to take the next step.”
