Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah delivered a memorable “send-off” to Pakistan`s Haris Rauf after cleanly bowling him out during the Asia Cup 2025 final. This impactful moment occurred on the penultimate ball of the 18th over when Bumrah dismantled Rauf`s off-stump with a pinpoint yorker. The gesture that followed from the Indian pace ace was a clear and forceful response to Rauf`s earlier provocative actions in their Super Four encounter the previous week, for which the Pakistani bowler had been fined 30 percent of his match fees.
Bumrah was seen mimicking a `plane crashing down` motion, accompanied by a subtle, wry smile, a reaction that quickly gained viral traction across social media platforms.
Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan weighed in on the incident, sharing his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter). “Bumrah made the flight land,” Pathan humorously remarked, referencing the viral gesture.
In the final match held in Dubai, India successfully restricted Pakistan to a modest total of 146 runs. Kuldeep Yadav emerged as the standout performer for India, securing impressive figures of 4/30 from his four overs. Varun Chakaravarthy (2/30), Axar Patel (2/26), and Jasprit Bumrah (2/25) also played crucial roles, contributing to the wicket tally after India chose to bowl first.
Initially, Pakistan`s innings showed promise, with their opening pair, Sahibzada Farhan (57 off 38 balls) and Fakhar Zaman (46 off 35 balls), building a strong partnership of 84 runs in under 10 overs, setting a solid foundation for a potentially large score. However, India`s spin trio – Varun, Kuldeep, and Axar – swiftly turned the tide by claiming multiple wickets, effectively curtailing Pakistan`s momentum and putting them under pressure.
