Quenton M. Brown, the father of Boston Celtics basketball star Jaylen Brown, has been arrested on an attempted murder charge in Las Vegas. The arrest, confirmed by KSNV NBC Las Vegas and local jail records, took place on Thursday morning following a serious stabbing incident.
The alleged assault reportedly occurred at All American Park, reportedly stemming from an argument over a minor `door ding` on a vehicle. Authorities state that Brown, 57, also known by his middle name Marselles, is accused of stabbing the victim in the stomach during the heated altercation.
Following the incident, Brown allegedly fled the scene but was later located and apprehended by the police. According to TMZ, the victim, identified as a youth football coach, was transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery due to the severity of his injuries.
Police were informed by the victim that he is currently in critical condition, having sustained multiple stab wounds to his back, clavicle, and hands, along with a broken rib. The victim`s girlfriend provided an account of the events, stating that an SUV passenger, identified as Brown, struck their vehicle upon exiting. She recounted that after a verbal dispute, Brown followed her boyfriend and then “swung his arm in a straight stabbing motion and struck [the boyfriend] in his back.” Another witness reportedly told police they observed Brown swing a knife “25 times” in the victim`s direction.
Brown, who has a professional boxing record of 33-18-1, is scheduled for a court appearance on Thursday. Reports from TMZ indicate that Jaylen Brown maintains a distant relationship with his father and was reportedly unaware of the arrest or the incident.
