Former UFC standout Jorge Masvidal is eager to rejoin the promotion and secure a spot on the highly anticipated UFC event planned for the White House.
Masvidal, a former welterweight, departed the UFC in 2023 following a four-fight losing streak.
Since then, `Gamebred` ventured into professional boxing, facing Nate Diaz in a rematch of their 2019 BMF title bout last July.
After his boxing loss to Diaz, Masvidal expressed a strong desire to return to the UFC octagon to confront one of his long-standing adversaries.

Masvidal`s Plea to Re-Sign and Face His Longtime Rival
Throughout his career in the premier mixed martial arts organization, the Miami native cultivated rivalries with several fighters. His spectacular knockout of Ben Askren remains one of the sport`s most memorable, cementing his status as a major star.
In 2019, Masvidal ignited a significant feud with fellow welterweight Leon Edwards, infamously delivering a “three-piece and a soda” punch backstage at UFC London.
Despite the apparent inevitability of a clash between them, the two never met inside the UFC cage, as Masvidal withdrew from their scheduled fight in 2021.
Now, with the exciting news of a UFC event slated for the White House grounds in 2026, Masvidal has publicly stated his intent to return.
“Leon, if you’re watching this, I’ll beat the f— out of you at the White House, Leon, I will beat the f—— dog s— out of you, just like America kicked England’s ass when they were trying to take over our s—, I’m gonna send you back the same way,” Masvidal declared during a recent podcast.
He continued, “On 4th of July, America’s birthday let them make a mistake and send you to represent England, I will crash that party… I’ll get in shape for you Leon, don’t worry.”
The Possibility of Edwards vs. Masvidal at the White House
Given their enduring rivalry, it would be a missed opportunity if a fight between Masvidal and Edwards never materializes.
Currently, `Rocky` Edwards is set to fight Carlos Prates at UFC 322 later this year, and a victory would likely propel him back into title contention.
However, should Prates emerge victorious, a Masvidal vs. Edwards bout could offer a compelling storyline and an entertaining addition to the preliminary card of the White House event.
