The Minnesota Timberwolves are set to reintroduce their highly anticipated `Black Trees` Classic Edition uniforms for the 2025-26 season. This beloved and iconic jersey design, along with a matching throwback court, will make a grand return, much to the delight of fans.
These jerseys, worn as alternates from 1997-98 to 2007-08, are deeply intertwined with a pivotal period in the franchise`s history. This era marked the Timberwolves` ascent from a developing team to a legitimate contender, spearheaded by Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett. During this time, Minnesota achieved eight consecutive playoff berths from 1996-97 to 2003-04, culminating in a Western Conference Finals appearance in 2003-04. Coincidentally, the present Timberwolves squad, led by star Anthony Edwards, is also enjoying a run of success, with four straight playoff appearances, including their last two trips to the Western Conference Finals.
Timberwolves/Lynx CEO Matt Caldwell emphasized the significance of the revival, stating, “Our Black Trees uniforms honor a defining chapter in both team and league history, while simultaneously connecting a new generation of fans with the Timberwolves` enduring legacy.” Caldwell added that these “iconic uniforms resonate deeply within our community, and their return demonstrates our dedication to fan feedback and celebrating cherished moments. We are committed to a fan-centric approach and anticipate revealing further exciting announcements throughout the upcoming season.”
The team plans to showcase these uniforms in 28 games during the season, with 21 of those being home games, where the special parquet court design will also be featured.
Both the uniforms and the distinctive court design are scheduled to make their debut at the Timberwolves` home opener on October 26, in a game against the Pacers.
