Reports indicate that Seth Curry is set to join the Golden State Warriors on a one-year contract. This exciting development, first reported by ESPN`s Shams Charania on Tuesday, will see Seth play alongside his brother, Stephen Curry, for the very first time in their NBA careers during the upcoming 2025-26 season. Seth arrives in Golden State after spending his last two seasons with the Charlotte Hornets, where he participated in 76 games.
The 35-year-old guard contributed 6.5 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game during the 2024-25 campaign. Over his impressive 11-year NBA career, Curry has established himself as a formidable long-range shooter, converting 43.3% of his three-point attempts on an average of four shots per game.
Curry`s signing comes swiftly after the Warriors successfully concluded their contract negotiations with restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga, securing him with a two-year deal. Prior to this resolution, the Warriors had been linked to several free agents, including Curry, Al Horford, De`Anthony Melton, and Gary Payton II, but were unable to finalize any official signings until Kuminga`s situation was resolved.
The Golden State Warriors will mark the ninth distinct team Seth Curry has played for in his professional journey. After going undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft, he initially signed a non-guaranteed agreement with the Warriors. However, he was subsequently waived after playing in six preseason games. He later spent time with the Santa Cruz Warriors in the G League (then known as the D-League) at the beginning of the 2013-14 season before ultimately signing with the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Golden State Warriors are scheduled to tip off their new season against the Los Angeles Lakers on October 21st.
