During UFC Perth, an unusual exchange occurred when a referee denied a fighter`s request for a bathroom break, stating, “You can`t pee right now.”
Early risers in Western Australia gathered for UFC Perth, a twelve-bout event featuring a main card clash between top light heavyweights Carlos Ulberg and Dominick Reyes, vying for a shot at the title. The preliminary fights began at 7 AM local time, showcasing a notable decision victory for Alexia Thainara and a spectacular first-round knockout by Australian talent Brando Peričić.
Audience members expressed some frustration during the fourth preliminary bout, which saw an extended stoppage of nearly five minutes due to an illegal low blow. What followed was no ordinary pause in the action.
Josias Musasa`s Unusual Request During UFC Perth Bout
Colby Thicknesse, recovering from his UFC debut loss to Aleksandre Topuria (brother of Ilia Topuria), achieved a dominant performance leading to a near-finish against Josias Musasa. In the third round, prior to Thicknesse securing his decision win, the Australian fighter inadvertently landed a kick to Musasa`s groin area.
Musasa collapsed instantly, visibly in agony. The fight was halted, and approximately three minutes into the recovery period, Musasa inquired about a bathroom break.
The official responded directly, “You can`t pee right now.” He clarified, “After the fight…”
Musasa required over four minutes to recover before resuming the bout, which he ultimately lost by decision.
Josias Musasa`s UFC Future Uncertain After Second Loss at UFC Perth
Josias Musasa`s tenure in the UFC has encountered a challenging beginning. The 26-year-old fighter from the Democratic Republic of Congo experienced consecutive defeats at UFC Perth. Earlier this year, Musasa missed weight for his UFC debut and subsequently suffered a first-round submission loss to Carlos Vera.
He had previously earned his UFC contract through a split decision victory on Dana White’s Contender Series last September. With an 0-2 record in the Octagon, there is a possibility that the bantamweight fighter might be released by the promotion.
