Paddy Pimblett, the charismatic fighter from Liverpool, has offered his perspective on what he believes could be a point of apprehension for his upcoming opponent, Benoit Saint Denis, in their anticipated UFC 300 clash.
The “Baddy” suggests that Saint Denis might be wary of the striking power and the overall pace that Pimblett brings to the octagon. While acknowledging Saint Denis’s commendable skills, particularly his grappling prowess, Pimblett hinted that the French fighter may not be entirely comfortable with the relentless pressure and the volume of strikes he anticipates landing.
Pimblett elaborated, “He’s a tough lad, I give him that. He’s got a good chin and he’s good on the ground. But I think he knows what’s coming. I think he’s a bit scared of the power, to be honest. He knows I can hit hard, and he knows I’m going to come forward and pressure him. I don’t think he’s seen anyone like me yet, someone who can take a shot and still come forward, and someone who can dish it out as well.”
He further implied that Saint Denis’s usual approach of controlling the fight might be disrupted by Pimblett’s aggressive style, potentially forcing the French fighter out of his comfort zone and into exchanges where Pimblett feels he holds the advantage.
The highly anticipated bout is set to be a significant matchup in the lightweight division, with both fighters eager to make a statement at the landmark UFC 300 event.
Do you agree with Paddy Pimblett’s assessment of Benoit Saint Denis’ potential fears?
